Theme announced for Nice Carnival 2018

Fuelled by the stories of Jules Verne, the king of Space

Combining the collective imagination of the writings of Jules Verne and the mythical images of Georges Méliès the 2018 Nice Carnival theme will be the King of Space.

Inspired by the recent space mission of French astronaut Thomas Pesquet and the success of the Nice Observatory in discovering new planets in the solar system, the 2018 Nice Carnival will celebrate all things space and of the universe. With the first tourist flight around the moon expected by the end of 2018, the theme seems particularly apt and offs an infinite number of costumes, musical options and interpretations.

The Nice Carnival rivals the likes of the Rio, Venice and Mardi Gras in New Orleans, offering tourists the chance to enjoy this spectacle in the heart of the Riviera.

Book your accommodation early for this event as it is very popular, despite being hosted in the 'winter' month of February. Luckily the mild climate of the Cote d'Azur means that it is likely to be sunny and warm at this time of the year.
