The marina is well-located near the town and has a nearby beach at Plage de Fourmis. Beaulieu-sur-Mer has excellent transportation links with Nice, Monaco and Italy- although this charming town of Belle Epoque architecture, charming streets and expensive boutiques certainly deserves your attention in its own right.

Port de Nice, Nice

2. Port de Nice Marina

Location
Nice

The Port of Nice, nestled right in the old town, feels rather unlike any other marina on the Riviera. This is very much a working port, with the leisure yachts, fishing boats, small cruise ships and Corsica passenger ferries all operating out of this large marina.

The Port of Nice is in a great setting- ringed by old buildings painted Mediterranean hues of red, ochre, pink and yellow, and there are plenty of restaurants and bars lining the port for atmosphere. Nice port also gives its visitors great access to the city’s attractions and the Promenade des Anglais, and is located only 4 miles from Nice International Airport.

The marina has a total of 520 berths, and can accommodate a wide range of vessels, up to a length of 190m (623') and a maximum draft of 8m. The port can accommodate up to 32 superyachts, including 5 over 50m in length.

Port Saint Laurent du Var, St Laurent du Var

3. Port Saint Laurent du Var Marina, St Laurent du Var

Saint Laurent du Var is a suburb of Nice that stretches along the seaboard to the west of the city, and its marina is one of the Cote d’Azur’s largest and liveliest for smaller vessels.

Port Saint Laurent du Var has 1094 mooring berths and 150 stopover berths, and can accept boats up to 23m in length. The marina is lined with very popular terrace restaurants and shops, there are plenty of watersports on offer, and there’s a man-made white sand beach at one of the beach clubs which proves a welcome change from the pebbles on the surrounding beaches. Port Saint Laurent du Var also has great access to Nice International Airport, as well as to a very large shopping mall called Cap 3000 (‘Cap Trios-Mille’).

La Darse Marina, Villefranche-sur-Mer

4. Port la Darse Marina

Location
Villefranche-sur-Mer

Within a short cruise eastwards of Nice, the deepwater bay at Villefranche has a small capacity marina which can accept yachts up to 34m. There are 540 moorings with a maximum draught of 4m, and 5 superyacht berths.

While it is generally difficult to find a berth in La Darse Marina in the summertime as the berths are privately owned, the bay also offers wonderful anchorage that is very sheltered in most conditions (with the exception of a strong southerly).

Anchorage outside the marina: There is room for many yachts to anchor in the bay- there are even cruise ships anchored here in the summertime, which means the water can get quite busy with tenders ferrying passengers ashore. There are some anchorage buoys close to the town waterfront, although these are normally taken by locals. If peace and quiet are what you’re after, try and nab an anchorage on the sandy seabed in the northeast of the Bay- the best spot is in the shadow of the grand Villa Nellcote.

Villefranche has to be one of the prettiest bays in the world, and its steep medieval town perched on the hillside is a wonderful place to explore before adjourning to one of the charming waterfront restaurants and soaking in the view.

Marina Facilities & Services: 570 moorings, laundry, drydock, 30-tonne travel lift, electricity, water, toilets

Port de Beaulieu, Beaulieu-sur-Mer

5. Port de Beaulieu Marina

The pretty town of Beaulieu-sur-Mer is only a short cruise from Nice in the direction of Monaco, and Port de Beaulieu is the larger of its two marinas. (Click here to view listing for Port de Fourmis)

Catering for 750 vessels up to 25m in length and with a maximum draft of 5m, Port de Beaulieu is a popular marina for smaller vessels and has excellent facilities.

Port de Beaulieu has a great location nearby the town, train station and a small beach, and offers extensive transportation links with Nice, Monaco and Italy. There’s a thriving strip of bars, restaurants and shops surrounding the port, while the busy shipyard and nautical services available on site make this an excellent choice to berth your vessel. However, berths at Beaulieu are very sought after, and this marina will often be full in the summer months.

Facilities & Services: Free WIFI, parking, careening area, shipyard, chandlery, nautical services, lounge area, toilets, fuel dock, electricity, water, 2-day loan of adapters/electrical outlets, mail delivery service, 24/7 security monitoring and a police station in the summertime.

6. Port Saint Jean Cap Ferrat Marina, St-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

St Jean Cap Ferrat is an extremely exclusive part of the Riviera, and you’ll be docking your boat in the shadow of some incredibly grand villas at the marina here.
