The summer is well and truly over; the nights are getting darker and there is a nip in the air during the evening that means that those nights that we can enjoy dining outside are numbered.

From classical to disco, live music begins the month of October. Saturday 1st October sees the Discollection Tour 2016 hit Nice so that you can relive your disco years with this legendary concert. There will performances from Village People, Boney-M, Precious Wilson and many, many more. On the same evening the elegant Opera de Nice will be the venue for a classical concert of Mendelssohn and Mahler, performed by the philharmonic orchestra.
Romance is in the air during the second weekend of the month as the Nice Wedding Fair takes place in the Palais des Congres. The first wedding show of the year along the French Riviera, you will find a collection of dresses, flowers, make-up and venues all under one roof. The city of Nice is well-known for hosting some of the biggest music concerts in France and October is no exception. Sunday 9th October is a date for your diary as Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals are in town to perform at the Palais Nikaia at one of only eight dates in the country. Ben Harper, three-time grammy award winner, is known for his guitar skills, vocals and stunning live performances, and now he rejoins the band 'The Innocent Criminals' for this tour.
Culture hits Nice in the middle of October with the International Contemporary Art Fair. art3f will be presented in the Palais des Expositions and aims to enhance the relationship between contemporary artists and art lovers.
During the month, the city of Nice will also be hosting several free classical concerts where the philharmonic orchestra of Nice will be performing outside in Place Saint Roch. Saint Jean Cap Ferrat will be holding their annual Braderie event from the 21st until the 24th October, where you can grab some of the best bargains on the Cote d'Azur...as well as some very special tasting menus in the local restaurants.
