July in Nice: What's On & Weather
The French Riviera has warmed up and visitors are flocking to Nice's beaches as the summer season reaches its peak. However, you'll find there’s much more to do than relaxing on a sun lounger all day here, as the events calendar is jam-packed in July.
Here's a sneak peek at some of the events we're particularly looking forward to throughout July in Nice.
What's the weather like in Nice in July?

July is the hottest, driest month in Nice and is the height of the season. Average temperatures generally sit between a low of 18ºC in the evenings and a high of 27ºC during the day. There is very little chance of rain and the sun shines for roughly 15 hours a day, with sunrise around 06:00 and sunset after 21:00. Sea temperatures have warmed up to an average of 22ºC. You get the picture: it's hot - day and night!
What's on in Nice in July?

Bastille Day
Bastille Day is celebrated across the whole of France with a bang. Well, several bangs in fact, as fireworks always feature heavily.
Nice Jazz Festival
The Nice Jazz Festival takes centre stage in this five-day jazz extravaganza with an array of acts lined up to entertain the crowds in the Place Masséna and the Théâtre de Verdure.
Nuits du Sud Festival
The Nuits du Sud Festival, in the town of Vence, brings together artists from all around the world in what has now become a major event in the Riviera calendar. Taking place throughout July until August, you really need to study the programme to ensure that you don't miss out on some of the best music of the summer.
Classical Music
Classical music takes over the whole of July and some of August with several festivals in and around Nice at the Nice Classic Live.
Les Nuits Guitares
Towards the end of the month with yet more music, the neighbouring town of Beaulieu-sur-Mer offers a stunning backdrop for Les Nuits Guitares. An eclectic combination of music genres will come together at this guitar festival taking place in the Jardin de l'Olivaie.
Ultra-Trail Côte d'Azur Mercantour
Begin the trail running season with the Ultra Trail Côte d'Azur Mercantour, a 150km race through the beautiful mountains that surround the French Riviera.
Things to Do

Hippodrome Festival
The Côte d'Azur horse racing course, the Hippodrome in Villeneuve-Loubet, organises a whole host of events during the summer on selected evenings. Horse races, beautiful equine shows, lots of activities for children, dinner at the track's restaurants and fireworks to finish it all off.
Bars & Clubs

One thing's for sure, you won't have far to go to find a cold glass of rosé to take the heat out of the day, whatever you've been up to. A variety of bars, beach clubs and port side restaurants will happily welcome you with live music, acoustic sets and much more.
The beach club is a quintessential South of France experience, and you'll find there's plenty of choice, from the uber-swanky to the family-friendly ones. They range in character and price, so pick one that suits your tastes and budgets.
