Folklore revival in Nice

People will once again dance the Farandole in the streets of Nice and celebrate the traditions of Nicoise culture.

The event was abandoned in 1995, but now, two local folk groups have come together to revive this wonderful festival and bring traditional folklore, music and dance back to the city of Nice. Ther 61st edition of the Folklore Festival will take place from 16th to 20th August 2017 in Nice.

We can look forward to dance troops performing the Faradole, a traditional folk dance that originates from Nice, as well as music and international dance groups from Belarus, Bolivia, Guinea Bissau, Nicaragua, the Philippines and China.

Be prepared for a wonderful weekend of stripy skirts, berets and accordian music...
