Big names for Nice Jazz Festival 2018

Massive Attack & Jack Johnson to play for the 70th Anniversary

featured in News & reviews Author Greg van der Donk, Nice Contributor Updated

The festival was the first dedicated jazz celebration in the world when it started in 1948. The world's best jazz musicians have been coming to Nice almost every year since then and this year is no different.

From traditional jazz artists like the Henry Butler to exciting afro-fusion group Sons of Kemet known for their electrifying live performances. Also on the bill are genre-bending electronic acts Massive attack and Soulwax. This is all on top of a selection of the best jazz acts from around the world.

It's an eclectic selection this year, joining from the more mainstream end is newcomer and Brit award winner Rag'n'bone man, who will be bringing his baritone mix of hip-hop and soul. Environmentalist and former professional surfer, Jack Johnsons chilled acoustics sounds will be a perfect match for a summer evening in Nice.
