Around 6000 locals gathered in front of Nice town hall yesterday afternoon to welcome Hugo Lloris, France national team's goalie, to celebrate his World Cup victory last Sunday in Moscow.

Born and bred in Nice, Lloris even played for the local team OG Nice. As part of the celebrations, he visited the football club's facilities where he had the chance to chat with some of its members, including manager Patrick Vieira and footballer Alan Saint-Maximin.

Nice's mayor, Christian Estrossi, welcomed Hugo Lloris into the city's town hall. France's captain spoke to the thousands of people that had gathered on the street from the balcony, professing his love for his hometown as the locals sang and cheered.

Congratulations to Lloris and to the beautiful city of Nice for this massive win!
