Pebbly beach at the west end of the Promenade des Anglais
This public beach sits at the western end of the Promenade des Anglais and is situated near the Lenval hospital.
The beach is popular with families and locals and is less touristy than those on the eastern end. The other advantage of this beach is that it's one of the few non-smoking beaches on the Riviera, so you are unlikely to find cigarette butts amongst the pebbles.
There are toilets and showers, but no parking other than roadside which is hard to come by. There is a bus stop, conveniently also called Lenval, within just a few metres though and there are Vélobleu bike stations nearby.
At the western (airport) end of the Promenade, so it's quieter than those closer to the centre of Nice but there is less in the way of restaurants and cafés nearby. Our advice is to pick up food and drinks on the way and have a picnic lunch.
There are no lifeguards on this beach.
As with many beaches in the centre of Nice, this is a mixed pebble beach so don't be expecting soft white sand.
