1. Cafe Marche, Vieux Nice

Location: Nice

Tea, cake, clothes, love - a special café spot in old Nice that provides delicious home made cakes and meals alongside great coffee and a good cup of tea.

Run by two sisters who offer organic, healthy food and are delighting regulars in this charming coffee shop behind the Cours Saleya.

The menu changes daily depending on seasonal produce and what's in the kitchen, for example the menu main includes hot soup with courgette, parsnips and mint, served with goat cheese toast; tian chard with brown rice and greens; rhubarb meringue pie and lavender honey from Aubagne.

2. Emilie's Cookies Café

Location: Nice

The great coffee shop is something special, offering homemade pastries, healthy and tasty lunches, great coffee and fresh smoothies.

You won't be able to resist their iced fairy cakes covered in hundreds and thousands. They've three cafés across Nice and one in Monaco.

3. Antonia Cafe, Vieux Nice

Location: Nice

Situated in the middle of Vieux Nice, in beautiful Place Rossetti, this unpretentious cafe is a great place to have a coffee while enjoying the Niçoise sun and the traditional buildings that surround the square.

They serve hot and cold drinks, crepes, omelettes, waffles, ice creams... Sit down on the terrace and have breakfast or enjoy a coffee with a waffle in the afternoon.

4. Deli Bo

Location: Nice

Deli Bo is a café bistro with comfortable chairs, white tiles, a large window and decorated with sober colours where the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.

The plates are extremely simple, made with local products: sweet starters, wonderful bagels, scrambled eggs, Ceasar salad and perfect pastries.

5. Gaglio Restaurant, Vieux Nice

Location: Nice

Located on Place Saint François, famous for its fish market, this restaurant follows the tradition of Parisian brasseries, offering a typical French menu.

Enjoy tea with lemon and basil macarons in the afternoon in one of their two light and airy dining rooms or on their terrace. For lunch and dinner, their menu changes throughout the year, featuring mainly Niçoise and Corsican specialities with lots of fish and seafood.

Open every day from 12:00 to 14:30 for lunch, and dinner from 19:00 to 23:00.

6. Papayou Restaurant, Vieux Nice

Location: Nice

From March until the end of October the restaurant proposes refined Mediterranean cooking, with Niçois dishes like the pissaladière (onion pizza) and also delicious Asian dishes, from Thai to Chinese and Japanese favourites, as well as some Italian delicacies.

Every day there is a new dish created by the chef with fresh products from the market. Soups, sandwiches, healthy smoothies and bowls and delicious falafel are also available.

Open Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner and Sunday lunch only.

7. Fenocchio Cafe, Vieux Nice

Location: Nice

Located in the beautiful Place Rossetti, this family-run ice cream parlour was founded in 1966. Most visitors to Nice grab their ice cream and eat it on the square, while enjoying the views of the Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate's beautiful facade and the traditional Niçoise buildings that surround it.

They offer 94 flavours, 59 ice creams and 35 sorbets, ranging from classics such as chocolate, yoghourt or vanilla, to exciting innovations inspired by Provençal essences, such as thyme, lavender, violet, rose and even tomato & basil.

They have a second shop on rue de la Poissoneire 6, near Cours Saleya.

8. Le Bistroy

Location: Nice

A great venue for brunch in Nice, the fresh home made food is available to sit in or take away. Open daily for breakfast and lunch and for dinner on Thursday and Friday evenings.

Brunch is served every Saturday until lunchtime in a buffet style that includes a hot drink, juice, a hot plate (sausage, eggs etc) and a hearty commitment to the buffet table.

They have lunch specials daily and all the food is made with the freshest ingredients and seasonal produce. Passionate about their cooking the owners are keen to make you feel at home and have you enjoy good food in a friendly atmosphere.
