Ringo Starr turned 78 on July 7th and he decided to commemorate the occasion with a Peace & Love party at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nice. He was accompanied by his wife, Barbara Bach, his brother-in-law Joe Walsh, ex-guitar player for The Eagles and his All-Starr Band.

In front of 200 people, they played three songs, The Beatles' "A little help from my friends" and "Act naturally", and Eddie Floyd's "Knock on wood". Ringo's All-Starr Band is comprised of Toto's guitarist Steve Lukather, Carlos Santana sidekick Gregg Rolie, ex-Guns 'n' Roses Matt Sorum, founder of 10 CC Graham Gouldman, saxophonist Warren Ham, drummer Gregg Bissonette and Men at Work's vocalist Colin Hay.

The Peace & Love celebrations started 10 years ago in Chicago. Nice attendees paused at noon to join many other locations around the globe in wishing peace and love to the world. Starr and his band had played the night before at the prestigious Sporting Summer Festival in Monaco, which this year will host other big names like Seal, Tom Jones, Santana, Rita Ora and the Cirque du Soleil.
