If you are on holiday in the seaside city of Nice this summer then you are in for a treat. In the newly inaugurated Galerie Lympia in the Old Port of Nice you will find a fantastic collection of works by Alberto Giacometti.

This new exhibition showcases the more recent years of Alberto Giacometti's work through some 50 pieces of major works from 1960 to 1965. Sculptures, paintings and drawings from the rich collection of the Fondation Giamcometti, will show the variety of techniques used by the artist in this decisive period of his career.

The exhibition, which opened on 23rd June 2017, will run through until 15th October 2017. The Swiss painter and sculptor, Alberto Giacometti, is perhaps best known for his tall figures in bronze, rough and stick thin. Several larger sculptures of this nature have been placed on the rooftop terrace of the gallery. Bringing together his sculptures alongside drawings and lithographs this exhibition gives a fuller picture of the artist and his broad range of works.

Over sixty years after his death Giacometti's works are still as popular and iconic as ever before.
