It's not hard to see why the cosmopolitan seaside city of Nice is popular with photographers, with the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean along the Promenade des Anglais, the sleek superyachts in the harbour and the narrow cobbled lanes of Vieux Nice (the old town).

According to the website 'sightsmap' the city of Nice ranks 43rd in the world for the most photographed cities and towns. Coming in 2nd on the French Riviera just behind Monte-Carlo in poll position, Nice offers the discerning photographer a multitude of artistic offerings.

Castel Plage Beach Club, Nice bar

One of the most beautiful private beach clubs in Nice, the Castel Plage Beach Club comes out on top and the most photographed spot in town. Situated at the east end of the Promenade des Anglais this beach club offers stunning views along the Nice beaches and across the Baie des Anges.

Unsurprisingly the Place Massena comes a close second on the list of most photographed places in Nice. The distinctive black and white tiled floor is offset by the deep red brick buildings made with rock from Pompeii. Lined with palm trees and stone pines with a large fountain at one end, Place Massena is a popular place for locals to meet for lunch.

Parc de la Colline du Chateau, Nice Centre

Rounding off the top ten, the Colline du Chateau is popular, not only for the medieval castle ruins and gardens but also for the panoramic views of the city and the region.
